Good Divorce Week

Good Divorce Week is an annual campaign which this year runs between 29 November & 3 December. It is organised by Resolution, a community of family justice professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way. The aim of the week is to kickstart a national conversation about how parents can embrace a child-focused approach to separation.

Our Family Team are proud members of Resolution which helps ensure we abide by a Code of Conduct and are committed to resolving matters in a constructive manner. When you instruct us you can expect us to listen to you, be honest with you and treat you with respect. We will also explain all the options and give you confidence to make the right decisions, help you focus on what’s important in the long-term and help you balance financial and emotional costs with what you want to achieve. We will also work with others to find the right approach and the best solutions for you.

We believe that the process of separating, arranging childcare and sorting out finances should be done in a way that minimises conflict and keeps the best interests of the children at the heart of the proceedings.

BWL are committed to ensuring that more families have early access to professional legal advice.  A Parenting Through Separation Guide has been prepared by Resolution and is available to download for free on their website. The Guide contains practical advice to help parents during a very stressful time and considers the best interests of the children.

Family relationships have been under immense pressure since the start of the pandemic, and we know that the children of parents who are separating can find the separation process extremely distressing.

Early access to legal advice is important as it enables you to consider your options and make a decision that is most suitable to your circumstances.  We understand that every family is different and that the separation process is difficult, we can guide you through the process that is right for you and your family.
