Ann qualified as a Legal Executive in 1999 whilst working for Peter Williams & Co., that firm merging with BWL in 2014. She now occupies a key position in our Property Team dealing with both residential and commercial property transactions.
Ann is a fluent Welsh speaker and has interests in hill walking, skiing and travelling.
David was admitted as a Solicitor in February 1982. He is a member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Solicitors for Business and The Law Society’s Probate Section. David heads up our Property Department having vast experience in all aspects of Property work including commercial and residential property, landlord and tenant work with a keen speciality in Charity law.
David’s interests include fishing, walking and classic cars.
Kayleigh was born and educated in Swansea. Following successful completion of her Law Degree at Aberystwyth University Kayleigh moved to Guildford College of Law (now The University of Law) to complete her LPC. Kayleigh then returned to Swansea and joined Peter Williams in order to complete her training qualifying as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in May 2012. She is now a key member of the Family Team advising clients in matters ranging from relationship breakdowns to children matters and financial disputes. Kayleigh is also a member of Resolution, an association which promotes a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters.
Kayleigh enjoys spending time with her young family who keep her busy most of the time.

Matthew attended Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera and subsequently completed his Law degree and Legal Practice Course at Swansea University. Upon leaving university, Matthew worked as a paralegal in both Swansea and Cardiff, joining BWL in November 2012. Matthew was offered, and accepted a Training Contract commencing on the 1st December 2014. His main areas of work are in our Civil and Family Law departments dealing with Personal Injury cases and all areas of Family work including Divorce, Children Matters and Financial Remedies.
Matthew enjoys spending time with his young family. He is a season ticket holder at Swansea City AFC and a member of Neath Golf Club. He is also a fluent Welsh speaker.
Nathan joined BWL in the spring of 2009 and became a Partner in 2014 having trained at the firm. Growing up in Swansea, Nathan was educated at Bishopston Comprehensive School and Olchfa Sixth Form. He completed his Law Honours Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Wales Cardiff. Nathan is now a Partner in our Private Client Team dealing with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Administration of Estates. He is also a member of our Property Team dealing mainly with residential transactions.
Outside of work, Nathan is a keen surfer who also enjoys playing cricket and football.
Patrick was born and raised in Ireland before moving to Wales in 1966, when he commenced his career in the Executor & Trustee Department of Lloyds Bank. There he attained the A.C.I.B. (Trustee Diploma) and later became a manager specialising in Wills, Executorships and Trusts. In 2001 he qualified as a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) – the professional body whose members specialise in trusts and/or estates, executorship, Will writing, administration and related taxes. Patrick retired from his position in Lloyds Private Banking in 2002 and shortly after joined BWL as a Probate and Trust Executive in our Private Client Department. He provides clients with his wide experience in the field of wills, trusts, inheritance tax and estate administration.
Paul is a Partner at the firm, joining BWL in 1997. He is head of the Litigation Team and specialises in litigation and personal injury law. Originally educated in Swansea, Paul attended the Law School at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth where he completed his Law Degree (attaining a 2:1), before moving to the College of Law, Chester to complete his academic training. He qualified as a Solicitor of the Superior Courts of England and Wales in 1993. Paul deals primarily with Claimant based work, but also manages a number of Defence claims in the Courts. Paul’s caseload is varied, including serious and high value personal injury actions, professional negligence disputes against surveyors, architects and other solicitors, building disputes together with contentious boundary matters.
Paul enjoys travelling as much as work allows, keeping fit at the LC and spending quality time with his family.
Richard was born and educated in Neath. Following successful completion of his Law Degree at Swansea University, Richard moved to Bristol to complete his postgraduate studies at the University of the West of England. After achieving his postgraduate Diploma, Richard accepted a Training Contract at BWL and subsequently the position of Associate Solicitor following his qualification as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in Autumn 2008. Becoming a Partner in 2014 Richard holds a senior position in the Litigation Team, specialising in complex private law disputes ranging from breaches of contract to debt recovery, landlord and tenant matters and neighbour disputes. Richard is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and deals with a number of high value personal injury claims. Away from BWL Richard is actively involved in a number of local projects.
Richard enjoys a number of sporting interests as well as charitable fundraising and spending time with his family.
Anthony was born and educated in Swansea and completed both his law degree and postgraduate studies, including a Masters in Advanced Drafting, at Swansea University. He then completed his training at a local firm.
Anthony’s background is somewhat different to most solicitors, having spent 13 years working in community development as part of the Welsh Assembly Communities 1st programme. This involved helping residents access services, providing information and raising awareness of people’s rights.
Anthony was then appointed information and advice manager at Age Concern Swansea where he worked between 2013 and 2016 before embarking on a change of career and qualifying as a solicitor in September 2021. He now specialises in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Administration of Estates (Probate).
Outside of work, Anthony enjoys playing short-mat bowls, a sport in which he has picked up county and national trophies.
Michael was born in Birmingham but has lived in Swansea all his adult life. He attended Hull University where he read Law and completed his Solicitor’s academic training, known as “Part Twos” at the time, at the Colleges of Law in London. He then moved to Swansea, undertaking Articles of Clerkship at the prestigious Swansea Firm of Peter Williams & Co. Such was his obvious legal skills and expertise he become a Partner in the Firm in his first year as a qualified Solicitor. in 1989 Michael left Peter Williams & Co. and set up his own Firm, eventually founding the longstanding Firm of Simmonds Hurford. Having retired from fulltime practice in 2022 Michael reunited with his former Partner at Peter Williams & Co, David Jones, accepting a position with BWL as a Consultant. Michael is now a key member of our Conveyancing team undertaking all aspects of conveyancing work and offering the benefit of his extensive expertise and experience to the younger members of our team.
Outside the Law Michael enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and all sports including football, rugby and cricket.
