Divorcing With Significant Assets

The Family Law team at BWL are members of Resolution who promote the amicable conclusion of divorce and financial assets and who try to avoid lengthy and costly Court proceedings wherever possible. Such an amicable resolution can be reached when all parties to a divorce understand how aspects of the marriage like properties, savings, pensions, stocks and shares and any other assets of a marriage should be divided. It is also that the “needs”, housing or otherwise, of both parties are considered throughout.

Regrettably, people can often become embroiled in bitter divorce battles and entrenched in their respective positions. This is often the case where there are assets of a high value of which both parties seek a share.

The Family Law team at BWL have acted for several high net-worth clients with significant and/or complex assets both in the UK and abroad.

When there are significant assets of a high value, or which are complex in nature it may be necessary to obtain reports from other professionals. The BWL team have access pension actuaries, forensic accountants, chartered surveyors and other professional to achieve a fair and realistic outcome. The Family Law team at BWL will be able to advise you as to whether a report from other professionals is necessary to achieve the best possible outcome of your divorce settlement.
