Community and Social Resposibility
Community & Social Responsibility
BWL recognise that its activities impact on a wider community than those it works for. Considering employee welfare, our local community and environmental issues not only benefit us but those who work for BWL and our environment, long term.
Supporting Local Businesses
Wherever possible, local firms are used to provide goods and services. For example, local builders, garden maintenance and roofing contractors are used for the maintenance of the firms office and archive centre, not to mention numerous other firms who provide support to maintain the services BWL provide.
Work Experience Opportunities
Each year we support local schools providing work experience for a number of year 10/11 students to promote the legal profession as a career choice, not only for solicitors but also support staff. This has proved to be a beneficial and positive experience for staff and students alike.
We also provide work experience for University students who have completed their law degree and/or Legal Practice Certificate. This again, is beneficial for the students in question and the firm.
Environmental Issues
· An ongoing programme of improving office facilities to reduce our carbon footprint.
· Recycling whenever we can.

Toner Cartridges for printers, copiers etc are recycled by returning to the manufacturer.
Cardboard is collected by the local council for recycling weekly.
Milk bottles and plastic containers are returned for recycling.
